Once described as "one of the best wingers I've played with" by fellow Serb Aleksandar Mitrovic, Kostic has become something of a utility player over the years, being deployed as a left-wing back for Allegri's Juventus last season.

He, of course, can still play as a nominal winger, but if signed for Palace, Glasner does also play with wing-backs and could see this as a good use for Kostic. As mentioned earlier, replacing Olise's output was unlikely to come from one player, therefore, a creative wing-back option could help replace his impressive numbers.

Firstly to clarify, you would be losing 2.95 tackles per 90, of which Kostic only completes 1.83, and similarly in blocks, Mitchell provides more per 90 with 1.77, as opposed to 1.44 per 90 of Kostic.

Clark would be able to offer the Whites another body in the middle of the park if signed, which could prove to be useful with no Glen Kamara around anymore in the Elland Road camp.

What Clark could offer Leeds

His versatility to play in a number of different positions in the middle makes his game feel somewhat reminiscent of the now departed Archie Gray, who is amazingly one year younger than the Reds number 42, but is now lining up for Tottenham Hotspur as a major £30m buy.

Clark could come on leaps and bounds in and around the ranks at Leeds next season, having shown signs of his quality last season when thrown in at the deep-end by Jurgen Klopp, with this goal in the Europa League his first professional strike for the top-flight giants.

The now ex-Liverpool boss would go as far as to describe the up-and-coming teenager as "exceptional" off the back of that strike against Sparta Prague, with a formative loan move away from the comforts of his current employers now firmly on the agenda.

Clark could soon become Farke's next Gray when you glance at the number of positions he's able to play in, with the temptation to even give him a run-out down the left flank for the Whites if he is signed, to weigh up the options here away from Crysencio Summerville.

Although, it's abundantly clear from the table above that he would shine in the centre of the park if called into action here too, with eight goals and ten assists managed from 52 Liverpool clashes in this spot, when predominantly playing in the youth teams. As a result, this could lead to Leeds' chase of FC Koln midfielder Dejan Ljubicic going cold.

Clark would be able to enter the building on a loan deal, which would enable Leeds to splash their cash elsewhere away from adding more midfielders to their ever-growing group.

On the contrary, his Austrian counterpart would reportedly cost an eye-watering £6.8m to prise away, with Ljubicic also failing to set the Bundesliga alight last campaign with zero goals from 26 clashes, as Koln suffered relegation.

يواصل الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم فرض الانضباط داخل المسابقات المحلية، حيث أصدرت لجنة المسابقات عددًا من العقوبات على الأندية والأفراد بسبب المخالفات التي شهدتها المباريات الأخيرة في مختلف البطولات.

تأتي هذه القرارات في إطار حرص الاتحاد على فرض الالتزام باللوائح والقوانين المنظمة للمسابقات، وضمان عدم تكرار المخالفات التي تؤثر على سير البطولات.

وشملت العقوبات فرقًا في الدوري الممتاز، وكأس مصر، ودوري كرة الصالات، بالإضافة إلى مسابقات الناشئين والدوري النسائي، ما يعكس توجه الاتحاد نحو فرض الانضباط على جميع المستويات.

كما أكدت اللجنة أنها ستواصل اتخاذ الإجراءات الصارمة بحق المخالفين، مع متابعة دقيقة لسلوك اللاعبين والمدربين والجماهير داخل الملاعب وأشارت إلى أن هذه القرارات تهدف إلى الحفاظ على الروح الرياضية، وضمان سير المباريات دون تجاوزات قد تضر بالمنافسة العادلة.

وقررت اللجنة توقيع غرامة مالية على الزمالك بقيمة 100 ألف جنيه بسبب السباب الجماعي من جماهيره خلال مباراة سموحة في دور الـ8 من بطولة كأس مصر يوم 15 مارس.

كما تم توقيع غرامة مالية على أحمد سامي، المدير الفني لنادي سموحة، بقيمة 20 ألف جنيه بسبب عدم حضوره المؤتمر الصحفي عقب مباراة الزمالك.

في دوري كرة الصالات، قررت اللجنة اعتبار فريق مركز شباب المدينة بالمنيا منسحبًا من المسابقة بعد عدم حضوره مباراته أمام البنك الأهلي يوم 25 فبراير، مع اعتماد نتائجه في الدور الأول فقط، وهبوطه إلى دوري القسم الثاني، وحرمانه من المشاركة في المسابقة الموسم المقبل، بالإضافة إلى تغريمه 25 ألف جنيه، وإحالة الأمر إلى إدارة شؤون اللاعبين لاتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة بحق لاعبيه.

أما في بطولات الجمهورية للناشئين، فقد قررت اللجنة اعتبار نادي المقاولون العرب مهزومًا بنتيجة 2-0 لصالح الأهلي في مباراة مواليد 2005، التي كان من المقرر إقامتها يوم 12 مارس، وذلك بسبب عدم توفر الإضاءة الكافية في الملعب.

وفي الدوري العام للكرة النسائية، تم إيقاف عادل حسين حسني، المدير الفني لنادي الزمالك، لمدة 8 مباريات وتغريمه 5 آلاف جنيه بسبب الطرد نتيجة سب الحكم وعدم الامتثال للقرار ونزوله إلى أرض الملعب عدة مرات مما تسبب في إيقاف المباراة أكثر من مرة.

كما تم إيقاف حسام محمد سعد، مساعد مدرب الزمالك، للسبب نفسه لمدة 8 مباريات وتغريمه 5 آلاف جنيه، بالإضافة إلى تغريم نادي مودرن سبورت ألف جنيه بسبب تسرب أعداد زائدة داخل الملعب.

في دوري القسم الثاني، شملت العقوبات عدة مباريات، حيث تم إيقاف محمد أمين إبراهيم السيد، لاعب الترسانة، مباراة واحدة للطرد بعد حصوله على إنذارين خلال مباراة فريقه أمام وادي دجلة يوم 17 مارس.

كما تم إيقاف محمد رمضان عثمان، مدلك نادي راية، مباراة واحدة وتغريمه ألف جنيه بسبب الاعتراض على الحكم خلال لقاء القناة وراية يوم 16 مارس.

وفي مباراة المصرية للاتصالات وديروط يوم 17 مارس، تقرر إيقاف عمرو أنور، المدير الفني للمصرية للاتصالات، وأحمد عبد المنعم، المدير الفني لديروط، مباراة واحدة لكل منهما مع تغريمهما ألفي جنيه لحصولهما على الإنذار الثالث، بينما تم إيقاف عبد الرحمن عاطف يوسف، لاعب سبورتنج، لمدة مباراتين بسبب الطرد خلال مباراة فريقه أمام أسوان.

كما تم إيقاف أحمد السيد عبد الهادي، لاعب طنطا، مباراة واحدة للطرد بعد إنذارين خلال مواجهة كهرباء الإسماعيلية يوم 16 مارس، وإيقاف سامي فاروق، مخطط أحمال طنطا، أربع مباريات مع تغريمه ألفي جنيه بسبب السلوك غير الرياضي تجاه الحكم.

The Bavarian's interest isn't the only obstacle the North Londoners will have to contend with to secure the 21-year-old's signature this summer, though. The report has also claimed that the French giants have slapped a massive €90m price tag on his head, which converts to around £76m.

Signing Simons would represent a significant investment from Arsenal, but given his recent form and boundless potential, one worth making – even if it spells trouble for Martinelli.

How Simons compares to Martinelli

Over recent seasons, Simons has proven himself to be a versatile player who can start on either wing or in an attacking midfield role. While this flexibility would undoubtedly come in handy were he to sign for Arsenal, he'd still likely be tasked with playing on the left more often than not, as it seems unlikely that he would displace Martin Odegaard or Saka in the starting lineup.

Therefore, Martinelli would be one of his main rivals for a long-term role in the first XI, which could be bad news for the Brazilian.

In 44 appearances for the North Londoners last season, the former Ituano gem scored eight goals and provided five assists, meaning he averaged a goal involvement every 3.38 games.

This was a far cry from his form in the campaign prior, in which he scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 46 appearances, equating to an average of a goal involvement every 2.19 games.

In contrast, the Dutch dynamo, whom data analyst Ben Mattinson proclaimed is "destined for greatness", scored ten goals and provided 15 assists in 43 appearances last season, equating to an average of a goal involvement every 1.72 games.

His output was even more impressive in 2022/23 as he scored a whopping 22 goals and provided 12 assists in just 48 matches, meaning he averaged a goal involvement every 1.41 games in the Netherlands.

Moreover, when comparing the pair's creative underlying numbers, the PSG gem once again comes out ahead.

Ultimately, if Arsenal have the opportunity to sign Simons this summer, then they must take it, as even if Martinelli can get back to his best, the Dutchman looks to be just that slight step above him in terms of quality and could well go on to become a superstar in the coming years.
